From the coast to Pumlumon

Arctic skua 2 km north west of Cwmtydu 10th September.

On a walk between Pumlumon Fawr and Pumlumon Arwystli on 14th September. Hundreds of meadow pipits on the walk up from Maesnant and on the summits. 2 wheatear on Pumlumon Fawr summit and a flock of Golden plover of at least 8 birds flying on the northern flank of Pumlumon Fawr. Along the ridge between the summit were 6 swallows, the usual pair of ravens and 4 snipe.
It was good to catch up with the osprey on the Teifi, we had great views in the late afternoon sunshine on Friday, including eating a fish in a tree on the Ceredigion side of the river.
Finally an upland kestrel hovering over the western summit cairn of Moel y LLyn on 13th September. For Mike, RIP.
