A walk from Waun Brynmeinog through the forestry and in to the upper part of Cwm Twrch. A good variety of summer migrants about, though still a bit short of numbers. Six species of warbler inc 2 Grasshoppers and no less than 50 Willow. Other birds included 2 Cuckoos and two separate groups of Crossbills (perhaps same as have been present since November) of 3 and 2.
I notice that what is presumed to be the same Bar-tailed Godwit is still present at Llanrhystud. It seems to have been about for a while. Is that perfectly usual or could it be sick or injured I wondered?
