Out again and at Ynyslas this afternoon the 6 pale-bellied Brent geese were by the tern posts with the usual ducks and waders. At Ynys Tachwedd around 1100 golden plovers were feeding with lapwing and there were quite a few redwing and fieldfares (presumably heading to unfrozen spots to feed). At the Cletwr ford a ringed dipper was feeding and scoping from the car I got excellent views of yellow J65 on the left leg. Over the Cletwr a barn owl kept me engrossed for 30 minutes and a juv marsh harrier was a bonus.
Returning home, I entered the dipper ring details onto the
mid-Wales bird ringing site and surely some mistake?
Apparently ringed in Newcastle-upon-Clun in October 2014?
A well-travelled and remarkably old bird if correct.
