Highlights of a rather cold but exhilarating walk yesterday morning were two little grebes, seven gadwall (four males), two willow tits and 26 teal from the hide; a great egret along the boardwalk and two little grebes on Maesllyn pool. Only a short walk as Claire, my wife, has a very dodgy knee (full replacement booked in for early March) and the circuit along the boardwalk was enough.
Later in the afternoon highlights at Ynyslas were five grey plover and
192 pintail.
