More sightings from the Leri

This morning, whilst driving home from Ynyslas - inland towards Tre-r-ddol - as we passed over the Leri road bridge we spotted an Otter in the river. We stopped and got great views of what I think was probably a "dog" Otter, he was very big. The tide was out so the water was very shallow and he was diving for food which seemed to consist of small molluscs or crabs, only a mouthful, which he crunched and swallowed on the surface. After a few minutes I noticed that there was a Kingfisher sat on the mud bank a little bit further on. Didn't even have to leave the warmth of the car, now that's what I call civilised nature watching.

By the way, send some of the Siskins across the road will you Mervyn........
