Several weeks age we noticed a Rook on the prom at Aberystwyth, near the lifeboat station, with what appeared to be a broken lower mandible and an upper one seriously misshapen. It was begging for food from another Rook and we wondered how it was able to survive.
Well, today I was with another group and at the same spot managed to photograph the bird, together with one with a normal beak for comparison. The amazing thing is that the bird with the odd beak is still alive!
