More Herring Gull observations

A friend Alec, lives in a topfloor flat in Pier Street, Aberystwyth and has a maintenance problem. The gutters regularly get blocked by an extraordinary number of chicken bones, scattered on the roof by the herring gulls nesting on adjacent chimney stacks. I presume these bones come originally from fast food outlets, discarded in the streets after late night consumption ? or perhaps they are scavenged from domestic refuse bags, or from trade waste bins ?

What would be the effect on the Aberystwyth Herring Gull population of the human population giving up industrially farmed cheap chicken drumsticks ?
