snow geese and woodcock

The snow goose photographed on the beach is one of two that I saw on llyn Fanod on Nov 15th. I suggested on this blog that they may have been too neat to be leucistic greylags!! Didn't occur to me that we might get real snow geese here or are they escapes? Keeping company with greylags might suggest that.

At home there are 2 woodcock and a snipe using the unfrozen part of our damp woodland. On Cors Caron there were a dozen snipe disturbed by a passing peregrine.
