Yes, same experience with butterflies here Mervyn. 8 very smart red ads as soon as the sun shone and one small skipper. A hobby flew through my binocular view as I was scanning the oaks for purple hairstreaks. 2 have been present on the dead trees in the middle of the bog for a couple of weeks now but no attempt to catch the hirundines, still after dragonflies which are now mainly Black Darters.
Yesterday the garden was full of young birds avidly feeding inc a young whitethroat picking bugs off my dead escallonia. Willow tits wheezing in the garden for a couple of weeks now were seen feeding two young!
