I was lucky enough to join Phil Hughes of Friends of Cardigan bay last week on a boat trip from Aber up to Borth. While at Borth the second piece of luck involved spotting approx 5000 Manx Shearwater and a dozen gannets a mile from shore. We moved up to about a 100 yards from the birds a cut the engine so as not to disturb them but as we sat there the birds moved towards us and sat quite happily around the boat for approx 30 min before drifting off.
