Ynyslas Turn

The male Long-tailed Duck was off-shore at Ynyslas Turn again this morning, in smart summer plumage. In the same field of view were two Manxies sitting on the sea and four summer plumage Razorbills, while nearby a flock of c.100 Common Scotor were feeding very actively close in-shore - a real mix of summer and winter species.  The weather felt distinctly wintery: dull and cloudy with a bitter east wind - wished I'd had my gloves with me!

On the beach 1 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew and 16 Ringed Plover.
