Read about Liz' visit to Cross Inn Forest and thought it might be worth exploring the opposite side of the road for the Shrike. There is plenty of good looking habitat immediately adjacent to the bottling factory....but no Shrike, at least not for me. No Hen Harrier either but a close view of a Peregrine instead. Not far away, driving home, 300 Chaffinches. Couldn't see any Bramblings among them.
