Subalpine Warbler

A phone call from Chris this afternoon saying that Brendan and Hannah were watching a Subalpine Warbler near the cycle path at the foot of Pendinas sent me rushing down there.
As I was making my way along the cycle path I met Brendan and Hannah coming back, as they had not seen the bird for ca45 min.
Brendan described the bird, which sounded a good bet for male Subalpine and I carried on to have a look for it.
No luck, so I went back and tried for a couple of Lesser Whitethroats which Chris had seen at the passing place on the road down to Spencer's sheds, earlier in the day.
I drew a blank there, too, reminding myself why twitching can be such a frustrating activity.
Still, there's always tomorrow.
