Ynyslas Point

An early start this morning, reaching the point about 7.20, in time for the high tide.  Still a few waders passing through; 20 Ringed Plover, 13 Dunlin and five Sanderling.
A late Sandwich Tern flew into the estuary, as did a Gannet, last seen heading upriver past Aberdyfi.
I finished with a look at the sea from the golf club storage buildings just north of the turn car park.
Rafts of Manx Shearwaters were scattered as far as the eye could see; I estimated a minimum of 3000. Also, ca20 Gannets and 30 Kittiwakes.
A couple of Bottle-nosed Dolphins went south.

Re: Marc's Short-toed Lark.
On Tuesday, I decided to try Glandwr and was just setting off along the railway line when I heard a call.  Who should it be but Mr Hughes himself, bearing news of a Short-toed Lark which he had just found by the pool at the far end of the track by the boatyard.
Abandoning all thoughts of Glandwr, I went straight there but the bird had gone. Marc came back later but we couldn't re-locate it.
So near and yet so far.
