early birds

Yesterday morning (5.30 ish) there was a Tawny Owl sitting on the pavement next to the rugby club field in Lampeter. A few days earlier I picked up a Barn Owl in my headlights just outside of town on the Tregaron road, the only time I've ever had the good fortune to see one even vaguely close to where I live. As others have reported, migrants arriving, and not just at the coast. Near Tregaron this morning; Chiffchaffs, Willow Warbler, Sand Martin and Blackcap.
