I holiday a lot in Ynyslas and always refer to Ceredigion birds
website to see what's about in the area. I feel compelled to report my wonderful
afternoon out spotting ! Having walked down the lane alongside Brynrodyn
holiday park heading towards the sea, several robins sang me onwards to the farm
sheds where the swallows were swooping and putting on a beautiful flying show.
Onwards I go down to the shore and on the cliffs to my left was a single chough
pushing the slate shale off to reveal small insects. Several rock pipits were
splashing in the rock pools. As I turned to view the sea I noticed a flurry of
gulls chasing two shoals of mackerel breaking in the sparkling water also a pair
of razorbill were diving.
Up the cliffs I climb towards the monument ,on the
fence was a female wheatear also a red kite was being chased by an angry crow. On
the horizon were many gulls and nearer several cormorant were passing. I was
nearing the bottom of the hill walking down towards the lifeboat station as I
watched three jackdaws searching in the rocks. Amazing afternoon!
