Big viz mig session with Marc Hughes at Llanon this morning (30th October) from 8 – 11.45. All birds south - Chaffinch 7451, Brambling 74, Siskin 584, Skylark 275, Starling 20,000, Meadow Pipit 191, Linnet 230, Redwing 379, Wood Pigeon 481, alba wagtail 17, Reed Bunting 14, Mistle Thrush 26, Great Tit 9, Blue Tit 1, Coal Tit 1, Redpoll 2, Golden Plover 27, Greenfinch 2, Lapwing 24. Following a quick coffee break we then had a wander around the stubble fields and saw approx. 250 Skylarks, 1 Lapland Bunting and a RICHARD’S PIPIT. If that wasn’t enough we then found a 1st winter Red-backed Shrike at the edge of the furthest stubble field from the Morfa beach car park.
