High tide at Ynyslas this morning was dominated by Whimbrel, with 18 on the Leri saltings and 55 on Ynys Tachwedd fields where there were also two Bar-tailed Godwits, a Wheatear and a few Linnets and Skylarks.
Luke Gravett then came along after a seawatch from the brickhouse. His highlight was a breeding-plumaged Great Northetn Diver drifting slowly south. Also a party of eight Red-throated Divers which flew in, a small passage of Ringed Plovers and Sanderling and 15 Whimbrel on the beach. Further out, large numbers of Manx Shearwaters were passing.
I tried for Luke's GND on the way home but could only find two Great Crested Grebes.
