Common Cranes - Ynys Hir

Wow! sitting in Saltings Hide at 10:50am and just enjoying a wonderful day when two adult Common Cranes flew Eastwards along the Dyfi on the Ceredigion side. I followed their progress up river as they headed towards Jim Marshall's house and the Osprey site, whilst over the saltings on the Gwynedd side they turned left and headed up towards the hills I lost them in the dark conifer plantation on the far side of the estuary only catching intermittent views as the twisted and turned and the sun caught their backs. No more sitings after that but presumably worth looking out for.
Had my first Pied Flycatcher, a female, dozens of singing Blackcaps, possibly 40-50, three female Great-spotted Woodpeckers kicking up a terrible fuss with a lone male in attendance had to stop watching after 10mins I was getting a crick in the neck. Lots of singing Chiff-chaffs and Willow warblers, 3-Tree-creepers plus lots of the usual woodland birds a real cracking morning.
