Swallows and martins

Maes Llyn pond after the snow-storms; 20 mixed sand martins and swallows(males) feeding tho' I couldn't see any insects!

re ringed neck duck: Lady Phillippa Scott died recently aged 91. In 1955,however, she was the first person to record one in Europe, at Slimbridge,of course. On the day of her funeral in Feb this year a lone female r-n-d returned to Slimbridge! Spooky? No,...nice!
As there are only about 25 seen in all of Europe per year then our bird certainly was a good spot by Chris Bird.
Wonder why he's called that?!
