kite count Tregaron

This weekend marks a Europe- wide count of red kites at feeding stations so we went down to Pont Einon and although not a regular feeding place over 90 kites turned up for the scraps. 52 lapwing flew around in the melee and over 200 fieldfares were in a nearby field; most I've seen since the freeze.
I have been in clear fell areas in SN 75 to try and pick up some missing species for the Atlas and haven't seen stonechats anywhere I previously counted them.(Didn't see much else either!) Conversely I have been surprised by the resilience of the wrens on the bog and we are still hosting willow tits at the feeders.
