Sightings from Tir Sisial

At Tir Sisial, Llanrhystud today: Pair of Grey Wagtails and Dipper on the
River Wyre. Several Chiff Chaffs now singing amongst the general Spring
hubbub, also after a slow start, multiple Wrens. Great Spot Woodpecker
drumming through the day.
A superb ariel display from a very large female Sparrowhawk chasing a
Jackdaw. The chase went on for at least a minute ranging between the tree
tops and ground level over an area of around 100x100 metres and as close
as 20ft at times. The Sprawk left the chase several times to reposition
and dive back in at a better angle of attack. I was amazed when it finally
veered off letting the Jackdaw escape.
