I have been keeping an eye out for the return of the sandmartins,and today (Thursday 24th) I was rewarded.Too many to count accurately but at least 15 all enjoying the flies that the warm weather has provided.The Rheidol river has undermined a site just upstream from us and this one is being erroded by the water and the frost.However there are still about 12 burrows that look viable so lets hope that they succeed again this year.Tonight we had two pipestrelles out and very active also making the most of the flying insects!
