As part of the annual programme to monitor owls in the county a most enjoyable few hours today were spent checking nest sites of Barn and Little Owls. For the Barnies three sites had four, three and two fledglings respectively. The Little Owl fledglings, which had been ringed a couple of weeks ago, were progressing well but a surprise - the adults were present and were duly measured, weighed and ringed.
