Birds in the north of the county

Great news about the Dyfi Ospreys, all those involved in the project deserve a huge pat on the back.

On Tuesday I took some guests to Ynyslas. After watching the Shearwaters pass by in massive numbers (an Osprey also put in an appearance!) we went along towards Aberleri where amongst other birds we saw a single Ruff and an immaculate looking Kittiwake.
Yesterday, on our regular Wednesday morning walk at Ynys-hir we saw a Hobby fly over and counted 22 Goosanders in a group - 2 in the water and a further 20 on the estuary bank. At Domen Las hide we had good views of a Common Sandpiper.
In the afternoon I took Buster for a walk at Upper Borth where I had marvellous views of a Little Owl sun-bathing.

This morning on Foel Fawr at first I thought my ears were deceiving me but eventually accepted that I was listening to a Willow Warbler in full song.
