MORE ON RINGED TERNS AT YNYSLAS

During regular autumn netting activities at Ynyslas over the last two nights 17 sandwich terns have been caught and ringed and two ringed birds have been controlled - details will be made available in the ringing report in the Ceredigion Bird report. This morning about 100+ sandwich terns gathered near the car-park and many of them sported metal rings including one with a dutch ring (which I managed to read along with another british control).

A colour-ringed sanderling was also present in a flock of 17. At least 9 common terns and two little terns were great to see at very close range - why on earth didn't I have my camera with me!!

Last night there were 12+ Common Sandpipers on the Leri and this morning 4 Greenshank were present.
