On arrival at Ynyslas this morning a couple of hours before high tide I counted 279 Sandwich terns spread across the estuary, 2 Common terns, 1 Arctic tern, 1 knot and, as the tide rose, a Gull-billed tern put in a brief appearance for the camera before my viewfinder was filled with black labrador.
