Like other contributors, I have seen lots and lots of winter thrushes on my travels these last few days as well as Golden Plover, Lapwing, Curlew and of course hundreds and hundreds - probably thousands of Starlings rooting around in the sodden fields. On my way home this morning I had a fleeting glimpse of a small falcon - a Kestrel I think - stoop onto something in a roadside field and further on I caught sight of a Sparrowhawk chasing after a small bird. My garden feeders are attracting various tits and finches including this little fellow who visited again this morning.
