Fortunately its still passing through planning as there were a pair of Grey wags where the intake is planned to be and as they were there for over 3 hours (whilst I was there) I'm pretty sure they'll be nesting there.
Further down the valley was this welcome sight though not showing any transmitter!
4 of the tagged cuckoos are in Spain, well, one went to France but the weather was bad so he turned round and went back over the Pyrenees!
Back in the Doethie, Redstarts and Wheatears have arrived and I'm pretty sure I heard a Whinchat but couldn't pick it out on the dead bracken hillside. Tripits, Mipits and yellowhammer were all active.
The track from Soar Y Mynydd is open for off road traffic now and its a pleasant walk across to the Tyn Cornel Youth Hostel from there. The road down to the Yh from llandewi direction is not recommended for low slung cars!
