I recently found a dead starling in an old teapot in the garden and noticed
it was ringed. I removed the ring and sent the details to Euring recovery, via
the BTO.
They have now let me know by email that the bird was a female in her 1st
calendar year and she was ringed on the 15.6.17 at Ventes ragas, Silutesr.,
Lithuania. There is a bird ringing station there. It seems that this bird then
flew 1680 km to Llanddewi Brefi, which is quite a journey. Picture of ring
attached.
