Wednesday morning at Ynyslas pleased to connect with 3 of the Curlew sands, one of which, interestingly, was colour-ringed. It had a standard BTO ring and red ring on the left leg and a yellow tag on the right. I was not able to read the numbers but perhaps the colour combination may be enough?.
We (my wife and I) also met Russell Jones and Martin Creasser there. It was good to meet them, the first birders we've seen all week!
Yesterday (Thurs) dropped into Ynyslas again (can't keep away!) and saw 4
Wheatears, and two Golden plover on the beach. Rather over exposed pic of latter
attached.
The Ruff, presumably the same as I saw on Borth beach, was on the golf
course with its oystercatcher buddies.
Later visited a friend in Ystumtuen and saw a impressive flock of 30 Mistle
Thrushes! Also pretty sure a male Goshawk flew over.
